A miss is as good as a mile… Is your jumping coming up short?

There are some pretty cut and dried criteria when it comes to good show jumpers. They need to be able to:

Lift their front legs from the shoulders so they can clear fences well

Bascule or round himself over his fences

Any restriction in these areas equals trouble for the rider, and even more trouble for the horse. Now this may not be noticeable at first…a bit like a tooth decay that starts unnoticed and then gets worse and worse until before you know it, you’re paying your dentists mortgage for him!

So if your horse is struggling with:

  • Discomfort in the back region

  • Working with a raised head

  • Tightness behind the saddle

  • Lack of engagement of the hind legs

your horses’ ability to make distances between fences and judge distances will be adversely affected
